A candidate for the VCP5-DT Desktop certification has a foundation in vSphere implementation and administration. The candidate possesses typical vSphere skills, including creating and administering virtual machines, configuring host networking and storage and working with DRS, HA and other cluster related vSphere features. The candidate has built upon this foundation with 6-12 months of experience working with VMware View. The candidate should have experience installing and configuring a View environment and configuring and administering virtual desktops for users. The successful candidate will most likely have additional industry-recognized general IT certifications or equivalent experience.

This exam tests certification candidates on their skills and abilities implementing, installing, and configuring a VMware View 5.x environment deployed on a VMware vSphere 5.x implementation. Successful candidates demonstrate mastery of skills and abilities across both vSphere and VMware View knowledge domains.

The VCP5-DT Desktop Exam is a core component of the VCP5-DT Desktop certification. The certification requires a passing score on the exam.

A VCP certification is required to continue to the VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) – Desktop certifications. Master the VMware Certified Professional – Desktop (VCP5-DT) content and be ready for exam day success
